During the year 2010, Kai Millard, who was married to Stevie Wonder at the time, saw Day playing at a strip mall and in turn brought her to the attention of her husband. There was no instant alliance created between the two, but they did reunite around one year later. At that time, Wonder was the one who introduced Day to the producer Adrian Gurvitzel. Day’s first record would ultimately include Gurvitz’s contributions, which would come a few years later.
