Maruti Suzuki has hit it out of the park with the new Dzire, it is not only feature-pack than before but also is the safest compact-sedan in its class by securing five stars in GNCAP crash tests ratings. Now, the prices of the model are to be announced tomorrow, 11 November, 2024.

The bookings of the new Dzire are already underway for a token amount of Rs. 11,000. It can be had in four variants, namely, LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi Plus. As for the features, the top-of-the-line variant of the Dzire comes loaded with a large infotainment screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, wireless charger, 360-degree surround camera, and an electric sunroof.

Mechanically, the updated Maruti Dzire make use of the new 1.2-litre Z Series NA petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. This motor is tuned to generate 80bhp and 112Nm of peak torque.

Then there’s CNG option too with select variants. Coming to the fuel efficiency, the new Dzire is rated to deliver a claimed mileage of 24.79kmpl and 25.71kmpl with manual and automatic versions, respectively. Meanwhile, the CNG version gets a certified mileage of 33.73km/kg.

Further, the bodyshell of the new Maruti Dzire was rated as stable and capable of withstanding further loadings. The test unit in question was fitted with sis airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, reverse parking sensors, seatbelt reminder system, and a speed alert system as standard. For the uninitiated, the outgoing generation of the Dzire scored a two star rating in the Global NCAP crash test.

Coming to the results, the new Dzire scored a full five star safety rating, making it the first Maruti car to score the highest star rating awarded by GNCAP. The sub-four-metre sedan scored 31.24 out of 34 points in the adult occupant test and 39.20 out of 49 points in the child occupant test.
