Tabu has had a substantial amount of development during the course of his career.

St. Ann’s High School, located in Vijayanagar Colony, Hyderabad, was where she completed her secondary education. Beginning in 1983, she relocated to Mumbai, where she attended St. Xavier’s College for a period of two years. She is the younger sister of the actress Farah Naaz and the niece of Shabana Azmi, Tanvi Azmi, and Baba Azmi. She is one of the Azmi sisters. Her reluctance to reveal her private life in public is a common trait among her.

During her childhood, she had an uncredited cameo in the film Bazaar (1982) when she was just 11 years old. Three years later, when she was 14 years old, she appeared in Hum Naujawan (1985), playing the role of Dev Anand’s daughter. 

It was in the Telugu film Coolie No. 1 (1991) that she made her debut as an actor. Both Venkatesh and she appeared in the film. In December 1987, Boney Kapoor cast she Kapoor alongside Sanjay Kapoor, his younger brother, in the film Prem. Boney Kapoor produced the first of two significant films, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, upon their release.

The first film that she released in 1997 was Border, an ensemble war drama about the real-life events that occurred during the Battle of Longewala during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. Tabu played the part of Sunny Deol’s wife in the film. 

Even though she only had a little part in the movie, it ended up being the second most successful film of 1997, after only Dil To Pagal Hai. Also in the same year, she had a role in the film Virasat, which received a lot of positive reviews.
