Career Evolution –

KOAM-TV in Pittsburg, Kansas, was Williams’ first job in the broadcasting industry, which he started in 1981. The next year, he worked as a news reporter for the independent station WTTG in the Washington, District of Columbia region. After that, he moved to Philadelphia and worked for WCAU, which was owned and run by CBS at the time. Beginning in 1987, he began his career as a broadcaster at WCBS in New York City.

In 1993, Williams established himself as a member of the NBC News team, where he served as the top White House reporter and led the national Saturday Nightly News. It was during the summer of 1996 that he started working as an anchor and managing editor for The News with Brian Williams, which was shown on both MSNBC and CNBC simultaneously.

Additionally, Williams was the principal replacement anchor for The NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw and served as the anchor for the event on Saturdays. The accident that resulted in the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, was reported by him.
