Corey Taylor has had a substantial amount of development during the course of his career.
A founding member of the American hard rock band Stone Sour, Taylor is a member of the band. Immediately after the formation of the band in 1992 by him and drummer Joel Ekman, Shawn Economaki joined the band and filled the role of bassist. Josh Rand was then given the responsibility of playing the electric guitar. In 1993, Stone Sour released a demo album, then in 1994, they released another album.
When Taylor was contacted by the metal band Slipknot in 1997, he decided to leave Stone Sour when they were producing a demo album at SR studios with Sean McMahon. This decision was made because Slipknot was interested in Taylor.
It was not until five years later, in 2002, that Taylor made his comeback to the band in order to record their first album, Stone Sour. Both Taylor and guitarist Josh Rand established contact with Jim Root, the guitarist for Slipknot, and Shawn Economaki, the original bassist for Stone Sour, in order to start the process of creating songs for their first album. Additionally, drummer Joel Ekman got back on board with the band. This “reformation” eventually led to Stone Sour recording at Catamount Studios in Cedar Falls, Iowa, which is located in the state of Iowa.

As a result of Machine Gun Kelly’s decision to alter his public image and musical goals away from rap and into pop punk in 2021, Taylor became involved in a rivalry with the rapper. This was in reaction to the fact that Machine Gun Kelly had shifted his public image and musical ambitions away from rap. Taylor publicly made mockery of Kelly’s switch to rock by saying, “I hate all new rock for the most part — well, the artists who failed in one genre and decided to go rock.” This statement was made during an interview.

While Slipknot and Kelly were set to play at Riot Fest in September 2021, they were planned to do so on the same day and at the same time, albeit on separate stages. However, the collaboration did not materialize as a result of Kelly’s dissatisfaction with the verse, which she referred to as “fucking terrible.” Kelly also claimed that Taylor was upset about being removed from the production as a feature.
In response to the tweet, Taylor uploaded images of emails that he had exchanged with Travis Barker, who was a co-producer of Tickets to My Downfall. In the emails, Barker had said that he had politely rejected to feature on the track owing to artistic disagreements with Kelly. In response, Kelly revealed that he had demanded that Taylor change his verse, confirming his earlier assessment that it was “really bad.” Taylor agreed with Kelly’s request.
