- Short tales were Martin’s initial foray into the world of writing, and “The Hero” was the first of his works to be published.
- Later on, he worked as a journalist and editor after having previously served as a writer-in-residence at Clarke College.
- “Dying of the Light,” his first work, was released to the public in the year 1977.
- Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Martin penned a number of books and short tales, one of which being the “Wild Cards” series.
- During the latter part of the 1980s, he relocated to Hollywood and began working on television series such as “The Twilight Zone” and “Beauty and the Beast.”
- Martin’s most well-known book, “A Song of Ice and Fire,” was first published in 1996, the same year as “A Game of Thrones” was released. Since then, the series has grown to include five volumes that have been published, and there are plans to publish two more.
