How To Use Home Tab in MS Excel (Microsoft Excel Docs). (Lession – 5)

The Microsoft Excel Home Tab is used to execute regular instructions like bold, underline, copy, and paste. It is also used to apply formats to cells in a worksheet. It contains Clipboard, Font, Alignment, Number, Cells, and Editing.

Undo

Undo – (Ctrl + Z). Button that has a drop-down menu in Home Tab. Provides the ability to undo changes, even after the workbook has been saved, provided that you are still inside the undo restrictions throughout the process. Office will store the most recent one hundred activities that can be undone by default. It is possible to alter the Undo command to Can’t Undo if you are unable to undo an action.

Redo – (Ctrl + Y). Button that has a drop-down menu in Home Tab. Through the use of the drop-down menu, it is possible to do many activities at the same time. It is only after you have undone an action that the Redo button becomes visible.

Clipboard

Paste – Button that has a drop-down menu in Home Tab. By using this button, the contents of the clipboard will be pasted into the document. It is possible to choose the following commands from the drop-down menu: Paste, Formulas (which were deleted in 2010), Paste Values, No Borders, Transpose, Paste Link, and Refreshable Web Query.

The Text Import Wizard, Paste Special, and Paste as Hyperlink tools should be used. The following features are included in the As Picture extension: Copy as Picture, Paste as Picture, and Paste Picture Link. The specific instructions that are enabled will be determined by the kind of item that has been copied throughout the process.

Cut – (Ctrl + X). Cuts the current selection to the clipboard in Home Tab.

Copy  Button that has a drop-down menu in Home Tab. The shortcut is (Ctrl + C). A copy of the currently selected item is copied to the clipboard. Copy as Picture is a command that can be found in the drop-down menu.

Format Painter  Transfers the format from one cell (or range) to another, enabling it to be pasted in another location.

Font

Font  Drop-Down. Provides a list of all the available fonts (based on your current printer selection).

Font Size – Turning down. Gives you the ability to change the size of the characters (depending on the printer that you are currently using) in Home Tab.

Increase Font Size – (Ctrl + Shift + G). The current selection’s font size is increased to the next bigger size in the Font Size box when this function is executed.

Decrease Font Size – (Ctrl + Shift + F). Reduces the size of the font that is now selected to the next lesser size that is available in the Font Size box.

Bold  (Ctrl + B). Changes the color of the current selection to bold.

Italic  (Ctrl + I). The italics on the currently selected item are toggled.

Underline  (Ctrl + U). Button that has a drop-down menu. When the button is pressed, the current selection will become bold. Underline and double underline are one of the instructions that may be found in the drop-down menu.

Borders – Button that has a drop-down menu. This button will add a border to the selection that is now active. The following instructions are included in the drop-down menu: Bottom, Top, Left, Right, No, All, Outside, and Outside. A number of different types of borders are available, including Thick Box, Bottom Double, Thick Bottom, Top and Bottom, Top and Thick Bottom, Top and Double Bottom, Draw Border, Draw Border Grid, Erase Border, Line Color, Line Style, and more.

Fill Color – Button that has a drop-down menu. A color is applied to the backdrop of the selection that is now being used by the button. The instructions that are included inside the drop-down menu are as follows: Theme Colors, Standard Colors, No Fill, and More Colors.

Font Color – Button that has a drop-down menu. By clicking on the button, the color of the font that is now selected will transition. The commands that are included in the drop-down menu are as follows: Automatic, Theme Colors, Standard Colors, and More Colors.

Sensitivity – Drop-Down. This applies a sensitivity label to the active workbook. The drop-down contains the commands: Unrestricted, Restricted – External, Restricted – Internal and Secret, Show Bar and Help and Feedback.
