Career Evolution –
Poulter was offered scholarships to play volleyball at a number of prestigious colleges and universities, with UCLA and Illinois being her top two options. She finally decided to sign with Illinois between her freshman and sophomore years of high school competition. She guided Illinois to a Final Four berth, was awarded the Big Ten Setter of the Year during her senior season, and was a two-time All-American. In addition, she was given this honor during her senior season.
By the summer of 2018, Poulter had already begun her training with the senior United States National Team, despite the fact that she was still a student. Both the 2019 Women’s Pan-American Volleyball Cup and the 2019 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League event were won by the team that she was a member of. Both of these tournaments resulted in the team winning a gold medal.
She had the honor of being included on the 18-player squad for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League in the month of May 2021. After beating Brazil, the United States of America won the gold medal for the third year in a row. Poulter participated in the bulk of the matches that were played. An award for “Best Setter” was bestowed to her at the end of the competition.
